Carnival of Rust pt 1

I'll write this in English for the sake of a student who kindly let me take her picture. So instead of my outfit, I'll show you hers (much better). Doesn't she look awesome? She wore these glasses with a nerdy twist in the evening when we went out to "Le Boulevard", but I don't have a picture. Thank you so much, Lara, for letting me take your picture!

Teksti suomeksi aina toisena. Kirjotan enkuksi, koska eräs oppilas koulusta suostui poseeraamaan minulle ja oman asuni sijasta näytän hänen asunsa (paljon söpömpi). Eikö tyttö olekin kaunis? Illalla bileissä "Le Boulevardissa" hänellä oli sairaan hienot nörttilasit vielä, mutta niistä ei ole kuvaa. Kiitos paljon, Lara, että sain kuvani!


So I finished my training in the collège (high school, kinda) and will now have a holiday week. You won't be seeing me before Wednesday 'cause of my trip to Milan. I might say I look forward to going there a bit. In a cool way. Anyway I have to write about the carneval here in two parts 'cause the costumes were just so awesome that I can't make up my mind about which pics to choose! So this is for the first day (maybe I'll do the second this evening). After school I hurried to see the parade of the kids of some schools. So cute!

Joten työharjottelu ekassa koulussa on pulkassa ja pulkka laskee kohti lomaviikkoa. Ette kuule minusta ennen keskiviikkoa Milanon matkani takia, josta olen ehkä jonkin verran tyytyväinen. Silleen coolisti. Mun on pakko kirjottaa karnevaalista kahdessa osassa, koska asut olivat vain niin upeita ja mulla on valinnan vaikeus. Tässä siis eka päivä (illalla ehkä toinen). Koulun jälkeen pingoin katsomaan eri koulujen lasten järjestämää kulkuetta.

The astronauts were so awesome they caused a stir of laughter in the crowd.
Astronautit olivat niin mahtavia, että aiheuttivat yleisössä naurunremakan.


During the carneval they throw confetti on other people. The word sound like Italian, but the heck do I know, anyway. I'm a bit worried about what this does to environment, especially when people by bags of paper slit into tiny colourful shapes. Then they throw it on the streets and leave it there for the city to take care of the cleaning. Nice idea, but how much paperwaste does this produce? Especially when they also have chutes like the one below to fire a cloud of confetti all around.
Karnevaalin aikaan heitetään ilmaan confettia. Kuulostaa italialaiselta sanalta, mutta mitäpä minäkään mistään tiedän. Olen hieman huolissani, mitä tämä tekee ympäristölle, varsinkin kun ihmiset ostavat säkillisiä värikästä pienen pientä paperisilppua, joka heitetään kadulla ihmisten pälle ja jätetään tielle kaupungin hoidettavaksi. Kiva ajatus, mutta paljonko turhaa paperiroskaa tämä tuottaa? Varsinkin kun on vielä näitä tykkejä, jotka lennättävät ilmaan paperisilppupilven.

And my outfit of the evening. Had to do something easy and my Gina Tricot -turtleneckdress seemed like a good idea with this face. Added a hat and striped gloves as well. These I had so all I bought for this was white make-up. I put the pic of my outfit but we went a little OTT with the light and I couldn't fix it. Notice the bloody bad posture.

Ja illan asuni. Piti tehdä jotain helppoa, joten GT:n poolomekko tuntui hyvältä ajatukselta. Lisäsin hatun ja raitahanskat - kaikki omasta takaa, joten ostin vain meikin. Laitan asukuvan, mutta valon kanssa meni vähän överiksi ja en osannut korjata kuvaa. Huomatkaa helkutin hyvä ryhti.
